This page is meant to introduce myself and to provide some basic information. I was born and raised in the city of Groningen. After finishing high school, I studied chemistry at the University of Groningen and received a PhD. at the faculty of mathematics and sciences for research in organic chemistry. I am currently employed at a contract research organisation located in Groningen.
I devote my free time to several hobbies of which photography is probable most time consuming at this moment. Besides photography, I spend my time with reading literature, delve myself into the family history by setting up a family tree website, and I do enjoy the taste of a good glass of wine every now and then. I enjoy listening to music of a wide range of genres, especially violinist Vanessa-Mae is one of my all time heroes that I admire the most. Other favorite musicians are: Shakira, Esperanza Spalding, Prince and Genesis.
In the field of photography, I try to focus on landscape photography, that for me also includes city and industrial views (cityscapes and industry-capes). In order to cope with this ambition, I developed my gear accordingly, see the equipment tab. Dutch landscape photographer Bas Meelker is one of my role models and I did a course with him some two years ago.
